THE ANIMAL SACRIFICES PROJECT
As Muslims celebrate the holiday of Al-Adha (Animal sacrifices
holiday), the members of the association are wholly engaged in receiving the animal
sacrifices and delivering them to poor and needy families in the West Bank and in
Gaza Strip. This is in conformity with the prophet's instructions: " He who takes
care of the widow and the poor equals the fighter"- "God has chosen a group of people
to serve the rest. People seek their help in hour of need. Those people shall be free
from God's punishment". These blessed days have made people hold the association in
esteem for it managed, by virtue of God and good management, to raise more than $
500000 including animal sacrifices, to be distributed on the second day of the holiday
among poor and needy families. The beneficiary families of the Animal Sacrifices project
this year were more than 30000 families. This project has attracted the interest of
many people and has been welcomed by all especially at a time of distress and difficulty.
"The public response has been more than enthusiastic", says Mr. Ebrahim Al-Emor, head
of the association. "We managed to raise more than NIS 2000000($ 500000) in a very
short period (1 0 days)". In addition, he pointes that the success and appeal of this
project lies in the devotion of the association's members under the direction of the
prophet concerning the animal sacrifice which is both an affirmed Sunna(of the prophet)
and also comes in conformity with the prophet Abraham peace be upon him .
